Formula
Score differential = (113 ÷ slope rating) × (adjusted gross score − course rating − PCC). The Handicap Index uses the prescribed number of lowest differentials, adjustments, and rounding for the record size.
Worked example
An adjusted score of 90 on a 72.0/120 course with PCC 0 gives differential (113 ÷ 120) × 18 = 16.95 before prescribed rounding.
