Bowling Score Calculator
Enter each delivered ball in order and see running frame totals. Bonus balls are applied only when available, so an unfinished game stays incomplete instead of receiving guessed scores.
How to use the Bowling Score Calculator
Enter pins knocked down on each ball in frame order, including eligible tenth-frame bonus balls.
Review legal pinfall, fouls, splits as notation only, missing bonus balls, and whether the game uses standard ten-pin rules.
Read game status, resolved frame and running scores, pending bonus frames, and a final total only when the game is complete.
Formula
An open frame scores its pins. A spare scores 10 plus the next ball. A strike scores 10 plus the next two balls. The tenth frame permits bonus deliveries after a spare or strike, with a maximum game of 300.
Example
A strike followed by rolls of 7 and 2 scores 19 for the strike frame; the next open frame scores 9.
Assumptions and limitations
- The tool scores standard ten-pin bowling and does not cover league handicaps, no-tap formats, string-pin variations, or score corrections by officials.
- Bowling Score Calculator treats the entered values as estimates and does not infer missing project, account, or personal details.
- Calculations retain working precision except where the cited method requires an intermediate rounding step; displayed values are then formatted separately. Source rules and dated rates must be rechecked when they change.
