Formula
Order volume = area × depth × (1 + allowance). Weight = order volume × bulk density.
Worked example
A 20 ft × 10 ft area at 3 in deep is 50 ft³. With 10% extra it is 55 ft³, or about 2.037 yd³, before multiplying by density.
Assumptions and limits
- Default density is 93.5 lb/ft³ and remains user-editable.
- Allowance applies once after all geometric volumes are summed.
- The result is an estimate; compaction, moisture, and gradation vary.
